Skills
Skills are Markdown files that teach the AI how you work. Each enabled skill is added to Claude's instructions for every request, in every project.
Managing skills
Open Skills from the navigation. You can:
- Create a skill from a template, or upload an existing
.mdfile (up to 64 KB). - Edit it with a live Markdown preview.
- Turn it on or off — from the Skills page or the Skills side bar in the editor.
- Download it as a
.mdfile.
New accounts start with a monochrome-design.md skill that sets the house style. Edit it or switch it off.
Writing a good skill
# Tailwind marketing pages
## Stack
- Tailwind CSS from the CDN play script. No other frameworks.
## Design
- Neutral palette, one accent colour (#2563eb).
- Section spacing: py-24 on desktop, py-16 on mobile.
## Rules
- Every image gets descriptive alt text.
- Forms must work without JavaScript where possible.
- Write instructions, not essays. Short lists work best.
- Explain why when a rule is unusual — Claude follows reasons better than bare rules.
- Keep skills focused: one for your stack, one for design, one for copy tone.
- If two skills conflict, the current request wins.
